Spring Concert 2026 - Fauré Requiem, McDowall Magnificat

Practice notes and resource links

Fauré: CyberBass, Choralia. You can also find recordings on YouTube.
McDowall: If you find anything useful, tell me (Steve Vickers) and I'll put a link up here. There is a recording by the Evans Choir on YouTube, at https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cecilia+mcdowall+magnificat. It at least gives you an idea of how the piece should sound, and when you are up to speed it's good practice to sing along to it.

19/3/26 - Special General Meeting to vote on amended constitution
As Katie has already emailed, our annual revenue has reached a threshold where we need to officially register as a charity, and part of that is to have our constitution approved by the Charities Commission. To enable that to go through smoothly, the Committee are recommending that we should amend the constitution to a standard form as commonly used by similar societies.
The Special General Meeting, in the interval at around 8.30 pm, will vote on that.
However, we shall also allow some time starting at 7.15, before the rehearsal, for you to ask any questions you may have about this.
