Membership
Membership is open to all ages, the only requirement being that everyone sings enthusiastically in tune with their neighbour. The choir is currently 35-strong but we welcome new members, especially tenors who seem to be in short supply everywhere!
Rehearsals in normal times
In winter and spring terms we rehearse for our Christmas and Easter concerts on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm for two hours, at the Baptist Chapel in Gold Street, Walgrave, NN6 9QE. Christmas concerts usually include carols for audience participation (and mulled wine for everyone’s enjoyment).
Temporary Covid arrangements
At present (Spring term 2022, for Brahms' Requiem), rehearsals are held in Old Church instead of the Walgrave Baptist Chapel. This gives us more space, and better ventilated. Please take a Covid lateral flow test before each one, and stay away if you test positive.
The choir is a not-for-profit entity and members currently contribute just £35.00 per term. This covers rehearsal room, all music, musical direction, venue charges, and the cost of any professional soloists, organist or other instrumentalists.
